Who we are?
To provide free education to underprivileged children and teens to teach them useful life skills and provide them with better opportunities, improved quality of life, and more hope for the future.
HELO is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) that provides free education to approximately 200 underprivileged children and youth in the Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.
Our team although small, is dedicated to empowering the students through education to improve their quality of life and give them better opportunities in the future.
At HELO we believe that by providing free education to underprivileged children and youth who live in the Siem Reap (Cambodia) countryside will reduce poverty and improve the living standards of students and their families who are unable to be educated by their parents or by a nearby school. In our community it is common for children and teens to quit school so they can start working to help support their families. Happiness House is helping to break this cycle of poverty.
Unfortunately here in Cambodia, public school teachers are heavily underpaid which means the public school environments are often resentful and cold. Classes are often too full and children do not get the individual attention they need. To counter this, HELO strives to create a warm, friendly environment where each student is genuinely cared for and inspired. At Happiness House we enforce a strict child protection policy which ensures the safety and well-being of all of our students.
We would like to thanks Bamboo Company (BamBoo) for their continued support of
HELO and KIDTEA.
