About HELO School
Happiness and Education for Life Organization (HELO) opened on January 2016 and it is a charity organization that provides free education to underprivileged children and teens in the Speankaek village, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.
Our Mission
To provide free education to underprivileged children and young adults in the local community through teaching them English and good morals with the overarching objective of creating better opportunities for their future.
At HELO we believe that by providing free education to underprivileged children and youth who live in the Siem Reap (Cambodia) countryside we will:
-
Help to reduce poverty and, in turn, improve the living standards of students and their families by providing schooling in English that is otherwise unavailable locally.
-
Reduce the number of children leaving education early as it is common in our community for children and teens to quit school so they can start working to help support their families. Happiness House is helping to break this cycle of poverty.
HELO is run solely on donations and is always looking for volunteers to offer their help towards delivering our mission.

Our Organization
HELO is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) that provides free education to over 100 underprivileged children and young adults in the Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.
Our team, although small, is dedicated to empowering the students through education to improve their quality of life and give them better opportunities in the future.
Unfortunately, here in Cambodia, public school classes are often too full and children do not get the individual attention they need. English is also not on the curriculum in the local community. To counter this, HELO strives to create a warm, friendly environment where each student is genuinely cared for and inspired. At Happiness House we enforce a strict child protection policy which ensures the safety and well-being of all of our students.
